OVERVIEW & DETAILED DESCRIPTION

Our Sweet Basil Essential Oil is extracted through meticulous steam distillation from the exquisitely fragrant leaves of the Ocimum basilicum plant, thriving amidst the lush valleys of the Upper Egypt (Beni-Suif). Renowned for its vibrant, spicy-green, and sweet herbaceous aroma, Sweet Basil Oil is a coveted ingredient in natural perfumery, cherished for its intricate interplay of fresh green-herbaceous notes and deep balsamic undertones.

Referred to as ‘Sweet’, ‘True’, and ‘European’ Basil, our Basil Oil is of the Linalool chemotype variety. Recognized for its notably sweeter profile and esteemed safety for topical application, the Linalool chemotype stands out among Basil varieties. With Linalool as its predominant chemical constituent, this Basil species exudes a cool, subtly woody essence. Additionally, Methyl Chavicol (also known as Estragol) is present in smaller proportions, imparting mild anise-like nuances to the oil.
